It is my understanding that the Panny RP-91 will not currently recognize the DD or DTS audio tracks on DVD-A disks. Does anyone think that a firmware upgrade will ever be released that will allow this?

It's not that I think the DD or DTS tracks would sound better. I just would like to have the option.

    Thanx,

On my Technics DVD-A10 (higher end non-progressive forebearer to the 91) there is a menu option for "DVD-Video Mode". Look in your manual to see if there's a similar option on the 91. I bet there is.

Looks like your higher end Technics has a menu option that the RP-91 does NOT. I searched in the manual and the menus and found nothing. So how much was our bet for Philip - how 'bout a DVD-A10? [IMG]
All you RP-91 owners out there - am I missing something here?
    Thanx,

That's a shame as I find it interesting to compare the sound formats. (DD does not hold up well)
