So I am sitting here watching tv and it hits me...
What would happen if I plugged the sub's RCA directly into the DVD player, completely bypassing the Denon.
Holy Cow Batman, we have bass when listening to DVD audio in 5.1.
I have the M&K 5000 and normally have it set to THX mode.
I am still playing with it but the output on the DVD player is most definitely outputing bass when listening to DVD audio. I just did this 5 minutes ago so I am not sure about what is happening or how to make it sound better.
Still need to play with crossover of the sub to get it to blend better. The only 2 DVD audio disc's I have are Metallica and STP which aren't the best discs for testing bass.
Thought some of you guys would want to try this and post your results/thoughts.

Brian,
Are those DVD-Audio Discs recorded in 5.0 or 5.1?
If they are 5.1, then I would think you should get bass even if you had the sub going through the Denon.

They are 5.1 and you do not get bass when going through the denon with the external inputs for DVD-audio.

Getting the LFE output from a disc with a .1 track tells you nothing about the RP-91s lack of ability to do bass management for DVD-A discs.
