Looking for a unit for my sons house with limited funding.Would you choose the Rotel 1066, the Sony E9000es,a Sony receiver,(4es or 5es),or the Denon 3802. I am not sure about the Rotel pricing except msrp, but I can get the Denon for $560, the Sony 4es for $540, the 5es for $649 or the Tae9000es for $729. Also the Sony 7es for $1229 but thats more than I want to spend. thanks as always for your input andy

First lets toss out the Sony 7es for $1229, As you said (but thats more than I want to spend) Toss out the Tae9000es for $729, I had it for a few years, Nice unit but it's time is long gone. (outdated) Rotel 1066 Cost ? AMP? now are you still within your budget? With the remaining on your list, That would really depend on how you like your sound, Some-what laid back sound (Denon) A bit in your face, But exciting (Sony) If it was for myself or a close friend, I would say the Denon, Spend or save the extra cash toward speakers, or the next upgrade.
