I was reading over at http://www.audioreview.com that the DB-25 port used for the 5.1 expansion can be used as a analog bypass path, using a RCA to DB-25 cable. Has anyone of you RSP-985 owners tried this?
I am interested in hooking up my SACD player to the RSP-985 but wanted to hear some feedback if this really works as an analog path and shelling out more money for a custom cable.
Thanks

Yes, I have tried this (of course, I wrote the referenced post at AudioReview). I am using a Sony 9000 DVD/SACD player, connecting the stereo L/R channels via the RCA to DB25 cable. Give it a try!

Bruce,
I enjoyed reading your review over at www.audioreview.com.
I am also using the Sony DVP9000ES DVD/SACD player. I am eager to give this a try but I am having a hard time finding a RCA to DB-25 cable locally.
Robert,
What brand of cable are you using?
