I have an Onkyo 898 with a powered zone 2 capability. It is a 7.1 channel capable reciever. What I am trying to accomplish is have a 5.1 setup in my living room, with the other 2 channels driving either the den or deck system via an A/B switch(the speakers will most likely be NHT Ones on the deck and some undecided 2 speaker system in the Den).
The Onkyo 898 has a 12 volt trigger for a 2nd Zone amp, but seeing that I wont be using 2 of the rear channels, can I use them to drive the 2nd zone?
Some people advised me that i would need an amp for the 2nd zone..if that is the case, would the Rotel 1090,1070 or 1050 fit my needs?
