If you can answer a few pressing questions, I would sure appreciate it.

1. Does the 1066 use the same remote as the 976

2. Is "set-up" easier on the 1066 compared to the 976 (the 976 seems to be a pain when setting up some of the outputs and getting it to recognize progressive scan, etc..)

3. What did you pay??

1)Well the remote for the 1066 is the RR-969 don't know what the 976 used.

2)I've never set up a 976 before but the 1066 is not hard to set up. This is the first HT/multi-channel product I've used. I'm more of a two channel re-tread.

3)$1350 USD and threw in a Tara Labs RSC Digital 75 cable. Lists $175 USD

1. Don't know, but the remote that comes with it is fantastic as a OEM remote, I like it a lot and will not be buying a separate remote.

2. Don't know this one either, but again the 1066 is extremely easy to set up. The menus are very intuitive and the buttons are well labled for setup. Very easy.

3. I too paid $1350.

YES- the remote is exactly the same.

I did not consider the 976 to be difficult to set-up- so I am not sure if I can adequately answer that. The on screen setup is very similar in function- if you can setup one you can setup the other just fine. It was my impression, though, that the bandwidth of the component switching on the 976 was too low to pass any wideband signal, including 480p. The 1066 has plenty of bandwidth.

I paid too much- $1500.00

Don't think you paid too much for it, think of it as you paid the least your market would bear. And then remember that even at retail it is still a fantastic bargain for this piece of equiptment.

True- true- I bought the only unit available within a 150 mile radius- the extra $150 was indeed worth it to me. It would have been nice, though, to have had the opportunity to buy it for less.

Cheers
