i've a rotel 1066 on my shortlist by i was surprised to know that it doesn't decode DD-EX? why is that (Denon 3803 is it's rival on my shortlist and does it) ????

it decodes dts-es but as far as dolby only 5.1!!!! i thought i was certain i would buy this piece but now don't know what to do. (inicially, i think i'll stick to 5.1 but in future...)

    the 1066 decodes DD-EX

    you seem to have your EX's and ES's confused..it's DD-EX and DTS-ES

You're right. For whatever reason, the site doesn't specifically mention DD-EX. I owned one for a few months though, and it does support DD-EX.

I still have it sitting here, it's on ebay actually. For the price, it's a great processor. It just didn't have the robust setup options of the AVM 20, which is what I upgraded to.
