See, this kinda news makes me wonder what's the deal with all the amazing World Masterpiece Theater anime series that Nippon Animation made? None of them have had proper releases outside Japan, except maybe one or two releases in Spain and Latin America....

I've found some old Little Women episodes on VHS, dubbed in English, and "Swiss Family Robinson" has aired on TV in English and is currently available on Amazon Prime in its entirety, but that's all I know of. I have a number of Japanese movie compilations of various WMT series as well as the complete Heidi and several episodes of Dog of Flanders, but all in Japanese with no subs. The Heidi and Dog of Flanders episodes are especially good and can generally be followed without subs if you know the story. The animation and design are just so rich especially the scenes in nature. I have a few different Anne of Green Gables compilations, but they're harder to follow without having read the book, because they're so dialogue heavy. So I bought the book, but have yet to read it.
