This'll be my first Ron Howard movie added to my collection, and I think it's one of the best of 2003, pity it garnered such a poor and antagonistic reception.

That was fast. Didnt this just come out a few weeks ago? I haven't been paying much attention lately though...

Yup, it came out Nov 26. So just under a 3 month theater-to-DVD window. I swear, there's just not much point in going to see movies in theaters anymore, except the really important ones.

You can find the complete menu structure for The Missing here.

No sign of the Ron Howard commentary though unfortuantely.

I would normally post all of the images, but this is twelve large shots.

Here's a taster

I liked Tommy Lee Jones and his Native American friend (don't recall his name) but I thou the movie was dreadfully dull, too straightforward, and not what I expected from the trailers.
Pretty much the same reaction I had to Cold Creek Manor (which was even worse).
I do like Ron Howard as a director though....

I want to see this one because I haven't seen THE MISSING and lots of extras on disc 2. I love DVDs with tons of extras.

A cool thing about the disc is that it has trailers for Spiderman 2 and Hellboy on it....in DD5.1 and anamorphic. Hadn't seen these before.

Chris was your copy of the DVD a US or Canadian sourced copy ?
My thinking is the commentary may have been dropped on the Canadian version only to provide space for the French language track. Although it is rare on Columbia DVDs as they distribute in both countries ? there are a few instances where they have differences on their releases. If I remember the Memento SE lost one of the English tracks to include French on the Canadian version only.

If the commentary is only available on the US release I am happy to pay the extra for it.

Will there be a HTF official review of this ?

Many thanks

Malcolm
