I'm getting kinda of antsy waiting for your review!
I can't confirm this or anything, but IIRC New Line isn't sending out screeners for FOTR. Something about them not wanting bootlegs of the TTT preview getting online before it hit retail.
The Digital Bits says New Line isn't allowing any reviews of it till August 6th.
Brian, I think that Adam is referring to the 10min Behind The Scenes of TTT featurette.
Can we expect a review from Ron, even though no screeners are being issued?
No screeners. No review. Sorry.
Not very happy about New Line's policy.
It's okay for publications to get review
copies (a review is in one of our favorite
magazines this month), but as usual, websites
are treated like the bastard child.
I receive about 10 titles per week to review.
Priority must be given to those.
Thanks for asking.
Looks like you'll be able to buy it in the U.K. next week from one supplier The R1 that is
I can confirm what Dharmesh said...
PS: I feel it worth reminding those who may be able to source it early NOT to publicaly state where from in accordance with this forum's rules.
Can we reveal it via a game of Hangman? I'll start off with the vowels...
A vowel, that narrows it down a bit. In retrospect, had to remove the hint there fella, at least ten minutes later when I figured out who you meant (I dont use them myself)... So in actuality, certaliny more than one UK based supplier gets it this week.
Seriously, anyone who posts it or blatantly hints at it will be cast head long into Mordor.... Mark my words.
That's too bad Ron. Seems like a strange policy for NewLine. They are so on the ball with everything else.
Too easy with the Hangman game.
Especially since it's been removed!
The August issue of Total DVD will have a review of the FOTR DVD.
Is this new line's policy for all releases or just LOTR? It's not like they need it to be hyped up with reviews anyway...it's already guarateed to be a huge hit.
Plus that forum member posted his lengthy review a couple days ago (which was very well done).
Giving it to publications is stupid if you aren't going to give it to websites though. Maybe they don't realize that my buying decisions are influenced by reviews on HTF and other internet sites, not by magazines. This doesn't apply to LOTR though...I will buy it no matter what!
I read it before it was removed.
You would think New Line would know that they'll get far more exposure from reviews on Websites than they will on magazine circulation. Especially considering the 28,000+ membership of the HTF by itself. Not very smart, New Line.
