Universal is releasing something called "Romantic Classics" on 1/9 according to the Digital Bits, but the titles have yet to be announced (perhaps in Barre Maxwell's column later today). Does anyone have any inside info or speculations as to whether they will be Universal or Paramount titles? Some suggestions: If Universal, any of the three versions of BACK STREET (Stahl/Stevenson/Miller), WHEN TOMORROW COMES/INTERLUDE (Stahl/Sirk), MAGNIFICENT OBSESSION (Stahl/Sirk), THERE'S ALWAYS TOMORROW (Stahl/Sirk), ALL I DESIRE, THIS EARTH IS MINE. If Paramount: TO EACH HIS OWN, HOLD BAC THE DAWN, TORCH SINGER, REMEMBER THE NIGHT, NO MAN OF HER OWN, (1932, 1950--although other than the title they have no relation), A FOREIGN AFFAIR).

Why on earth would they put a Wilder directed title in that set when they have the material to release a Wilder set like the Sturges set? They already are releasing the Wilder set in R2.

I was just about to jump back on the Universal bandwagon too.

Universal doesn't. Their website labels it "Romantic Favorites".
