    From rr2002.com:

"Fox Home Entertainment, which released a hugely-successful R&H movie musicals DVD and video collection in September 2000 (OKLAHOMA!, CAROUSEL, STATE FAIR [1945], SOUTH PACIFIC, THE KING AND I and THE SOUND OF MUSIC), is planning a Rodgers Centennial reissue, slated for early Summer 2002 release."

Does anyone know anything about this?

I don't know anything for sure. But I am pretty sure that Peter Staddon indicated these were likely candidates for rerelease, with new anamorphic transfers, where applicable.

I hope this time the negatives are fully and properly restored with NO EDGE ENHANCEMENT (uh hem, Sound of Music?)applied to the telecine transfer, and that Oklahoma stays the superb 30 fps Todd-AO 70mm version.

I bought all these the first time and, if they have anamorphic transfers, will gladly buy them again. Bring 'em on Fox!

I wouldn't count on any "restoration" this time around. But that being said, they can do the widescreen films anamorphic and use new transfers from original elements rather than using the old laserdisc masters for all but "Sound". We'll see.

I also have all of these titles, but would gladly buy anamorphic remasters.

BTW FOX, where is the CinemaScope State Fair?

BTW Universal, Where is Flower Drum Song in its original 2.35:1 AR?

I thought they were just going to repackage the old discs as a set.
