Hmmmm- I hope they release these as stand alone films (they likely won’t). Don’t really care for #4.

So, they must have seen the overwhelmingly positive reaction Paramount got from fans when they released Star Trek 1-4 in a box set and then 5&6 as standalones a year later and thought, "Yo! We should totally do that with Rocky!"

Technically Sony owns Rocky Balboa. I'm not sure why Rocky V isn't here though.

Is part of the 100th anniversaries for both WB and MGM?

WB announced their 100th celebration just before Christmas to a warm fan fare while Amazon hasn't said anything about MGM's yet. Is WB and MGM doing a combine 100th anniversary outing together?

From what I understand "Rocky Vs. Drago" is a whole new director's cut of Rocky IV done by Sly for this release.
The recut version is definitely an improvement, but it's not radically different from the original version. The biggest differences are the removal of the robot subplot and the addition of some character beats. The running time of the two versions is almost identical. I think it was available to stream on Prime, but it may not be there anymore.

Here's the individual 4K releases for the first 4 movies

Mostly a Black, White, and Red color scheme WB gone with for the front and back covers with only color inside and on the flag for Rocky 4.

I'm just waiting for someone to complain about the cover art

As a matter of fact...

Physical media is now primarily a collector's market. Those of us who are abnormally more passionate about collecting than the average guy care very much about things like packaging and artwork so, yes, we think this artwork is terrible. Makes it look like something you'll find at the bottom of a Walmart sale bin. Thankfully, the majority of us rabid fans still value the films and PQ above a piece of cardboard or poor design choice but there's still nothing wrong with admiring attractive and thoughtful packaging and nice art.

I plan on skipping this release because it is incomplete. Going to wait for the inevitable re-release of the 6 film set.
