I saw an interesting comment in a YouTube thread (of all places) that I thought actually had some merit.
With Bohemian Rhapsody here, and Rocketman to come, I wonder if we are potentially approaching the age of the rock star cinematic universe.
This would actually be a mine with lots and lots of potential. Specifically, actors taking on the role just like these two aforementioned films (documentaries don't count). Just off the top of my head stories that would interest me.
David Bowie, Amy Winehouse, Nirvana, The Beach Boys, Prince, and a bunch of others.
Some might make more sense than others, but ideally, the best films would involve at least one band member that had a controversial thing about them or a central figure like Bowie that had an interesting career to say the least.
What do you think?
I know how Hollywood likes to ride formulas and establish trends and franchises.
