The original Road Rash for the 3DO was great! The 3DO version was the best of the series.

Peter, I absolutely agree with you.
The 3DO version of "Need For Speed" was the best console iteration of the series, as well...

Has anyone heard what is up with Road Rash 2 for the Playstation 2 (PS2)? I saw it on some online stores as a preorder item to be released Christmas 1999. However, they have all been removed and I can't find any information on Electronic Arts website: http://www.ea.com
Apparently, they already presented a demo of the game at the E3 2000, which you can read about here: http://www.gamers.com/game/258739

I just hooked up my 3D0 for a little retro binge and that was the title I played first. Woohoo!
I can still remember being mesmerized by the video cuts. :)

Road Rash was good, but man that version of Super Street Fighter 2 that came out for the system was worth the asking price for the unit+6 button controller+game.

Well, I called Electronic Arts and they informed me that if we want this game, we should write to [email protected]
I wrote to them and informed them that there was an interest in the game for the PS2. They informed me that they would pass the information to the developers and someone would get back to me. I'll let you know what they say, but in the meantime, it probably wouldn't hurt to send an e-mail yourselves to help back the demand. FYI.

Well, I was hoping to hear some news on this with this year's E3, but so far I haven't heard anything. I got an e-mail from Electronic Arts that my request has been sent to the developers and they will get back to me soon. I'll post here what I find out.

Kelley, Funny you should mention that - I scoured the net looking for a converter that would allow me to hook up my Championship Joystick (SNES) to a 3D0 unit. I knew on existed, but didn't buy it when it was readily available. Finally found it and it was worth the wait! SSF2 with the Championship stick on the 3D0 is the best SF2 experience, period.

That game rocked and no other port, among my 7 or so copies of SF2's various iterations across 5 platforms, match it.

For what's it's worth, it looks like the game has been canceled. I wrote a letter to [email protected] and I'm waiting to hear back. But I did get a reply from Sony and from the Electronic Arts online store...

I LOVED Road Rash for the 3DO! I remember the cut scenes and the great music (I'm a big Soundgarden fan). All this talk makes me wish I hadn't sold my 3DO all those years ago. I'll e-mail EA and request it as well.
