What height and do you insulate between the plywood and concrete floor. Has anyone put hinges in riser so it is portable. Carpet both under and over.

My riser consits of a frame made from treated 2x10's that rest directly on the basement concrete floor. I did not insulate or put sand inside. The top of the riser is 3/4" plywood that is glued and screwed to the frame. Pad and carpet was installed over the entire basement floor and riser. It's the perfect height for my application and it doesn't squeak! Good luck with your project!
