One of the greatest sportswriters of the modern era of sports has passed away. Ralph Wiley died suddenly of heart failure at the age of 52. Page 2 has appropriately dedicated all coverage today to him:

He was one of my favorite sportswriters, and absolutely one of the best writers in any medium that I've ever read. I'm an aspiring journalist, and I'd be ecstatic to be half as good as Ralph Wiley one day. He and his work will be missed.

I was also shocked when I heard the news, as was said before too young, too young.

I really enjoyed his NFL thought balloons that he did weekly.

Yeah Casey, those thought balloons were one of my favorites things that he did. Especially since they were usually quite reverential of one Mr. Ray Lewis.
