It's funny that this subject just came up.
I was looking through the DVDs that are on sale at Express.com and saw a blantant rip-off of "The Usual Suspects" called "Prime Suspects." The covers are virtually indistinguishable.

Every time I see that cover, I think it's Papillon.

Hey fella . . . I bet you're still livin' in your parent's cellar . . . downloading pictures of Sarah Michelle Gellar . . . and posting "Me too!" like some brain-dead AOL-er . . . I should do the world a favor and cap ya' like Old Yeller . . . you're just about as useless as MPEGs [sic] to Hellen Keller.

Great thread!
FYI - Animal Factory is well worth checking out. It was directed by Steve Buscemi and is one of the best prison films I've seen. See if you can spot Mickey Rourke!

You just need to check the trade magazines to see there are hundreds of low budget films that rip off blockbusters such as

Wait! wasn't Will Patton IN Gone in Sixty Seconds? He was! Wow...what's he doing in the rip-off too? Actually, what are any of those actors doing in the rip-off?

The scream rip offs are mostly from BVHV...they recycle almost all the same stuff. Look at EVERYTHING released by them...it is almost all head shots with the cast with some critics quip listed on the front and all over the back. It is easy to recognize anyhitng released by them. The only DVD cover of theirs that was different was the DVD cover for Unbreakable. But otherwise, look at all the covers from Disney, Miramax, Touchstone, Hollywood, Dimension, and whoever else is under Buena Vista's control. It is easy to recognize they made the film just by glancing at the front of the box.
It is sickening.
