Country music star Kenny Rogers died Friday night in Sandy Springs, Georgia. He was 81. According to a statement posted by his family on Twitter, the singer, songwriter, actor and producer passed away at 10:25PM “peacefully at home from natural causes under the care of hospice and surrounded by his family.”

Grew up listening to Kenny Rogers. I think my parents had most of his LP's. Sad to hear that he passed, he was extremely talented and leaves behind a huge catalog of hits.

Appreciated the talent and especially liked his Pre-Gambler stuff with the First Edition.

A few weeks ago I caught a re-run of The Johnny Cash show on Retro TV or something similar.
Absolutely shocked me to to Kenny and First Edition, June Carter and Family, Johnny, OC Smith on the same show or another with Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell and Doug Kershaw as guests. Next week Roy Clark and the Monkees followed by CCR/Phil Harris/Roy Orbison.
