right way to measure port length

    do i measure from flared end to flared end or the center tube?

    Measure end to end, and then subtract 1 inch from the measured length to get the effective lenght.

    In other words, you trim the center tube to 5" shorter than the effective port length

    (because the flares add 6" to the length of the center tube)

    Remember to factor in the number of ports used when calculating the port length.

    Also keep in mind that if you're making an Adire Audio sub, they usually tell you the length of the center tube. So if they say 11", then that's how long you make the center tube for the port.

    Chris, I was just getting ready to cut my ports for my Tempest 214L.....

    My center tube should be 11" before assembly correct?

    If it's an adire alignment 214L tuned to 15.4hz, then the center tube should be 11"
