I was thinking of picking this up since its so cheap but I noticed that pitch black and the 35 minute animation are on the same disk? How does the transfer look and did they cut anything out from the regular unrated disk?

The only movie I really want is pitch black so if this transfer has a lower bit rate then the stand alone I guess I would rather get it then the trilogy.

    Thanks

Plus the animated short "Dark Fury", which Blake is referring to.

There were going to be two more movies, with Chronicles being the start of the trilogy and Pitch Black being considered a prequel.

And I kind of think that if they have their way, Twohy and Diesel will do it someday, if they can figure out a way to do it for $20M and not have it look awful. Diesel seems to look at it as his best chance at a franchise role, and isn't one to let poor performance stop him.

Jee, if they greenlight all these zombie flicks, you'd think the Cronicals would have a chance. I'd love it.

Though I thought Chronicles was ultra-cheesy and over-the-top, it was very entertaining. I'd love to see a sequel only because he was suppsoed to journey into hell or whatever to revive the Alexa Davalos character. I was really pissed they killed her off.

If they do continue the Trilogy, they may have to do some retitling. Otherwise it'll go like:

The Chronicles of Riddick: Pitch Black
The Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury
    The Chronicles of Riddick
The Chronicles of Riddick: The Sequel
The Chronicles of Riddick: The Sequel to the Sequel

    Almost as annoying as:

Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace
Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
    Star Wars
    The Empire Strikes Back
    Return of the Jedi

    Stephen...

Star Wars movies are all "Star Wars" franchise movies. Episode 4 is "A New Hope".... It's just sometimes referred to as "Star Wars" because it was the first movie...

I've never seen Pitch Black referred to as "The Chronicles of Riddick: Pitch Black". I have the old dvd version, maybe thats why...

Either way, just figured I'd clarify the SW thing...

Or because it opened and played for a year under that title and tens of millions of people came to know it under that name.

Brandon .. I didn't know that, nor was I trying to be snobbish, just saying what I thought was the truth.

Thanks for that update though, I guess I should check my movie trivia lol...

Is Dark Fury anamorphic here? If it is I might pick this one up.
