I posted this in the Amazon reviews: "Shout Factory produced two versions of this DVD set: The first edition has glitches and jump cuts that shorten the episodes by a minute or so each, and its UPC is 826663178593 (it was scheduled to be released in August). The corrected version that was released in October has a different UPC: 826663184136. Shout delayed its Rhoda: The Final Season release to correct the problems, but the faulty DVDs have been sent to customers anyway. I got a bad set, returned it to Amazon for a refund, and ordered the new set with the correct UPC, which seems fine."
I'm guessing that all the customers who preordered the set on Amazon BEFORE the delay got the bad version, because the existing orders weren't switched to the new product listing (the one for the corrected set). You can still see two listings on Amazon. under "Additional DVD options." Ideally, Amazon will contact the people who got shipped the bad one and fix this. But I took care of it already by returning the bad set and reordering the corrected one: UPC: 826663184136 -- the version that's $14.49 now, and the only one that Amazon is selling directly. Only third-party sellers are selling the faulty one.
It took two weeks for Shout Factory to respond to my email about this -- by time they did, I'd taken care of it myself. One hitch -- the corrected version cost me more than the faulty one. Whattaya gonna do...
