I e-mailed Rhino a little over a week ago about possible GI Joe Season Boxsets (as they now own distribution rights to this series) with this:

He-Man will likely never be seen again. You must buy the entire Filmation library from Hallmark to get it. Both Cartoon Network and Rhino want that show badly last I hear. So badly that CN financed a NEW He-Man show. The price for the library is VERY high from what I hear, and it has a LOT of junk in it.

GI Joe and Jem, released the same time as TF sold about 1/10 of the copies. I'd live some nice GI Joe episode discs, especially of the pilot tho.

Actually, Rhino had prepared a G.I. Joe DVD called "Arise, Serpentor, Arise" for this coming September, which would be the first FIVE episodes of Season 2.

Last thing we heard from a Rhino contact is that the project has been put on hold because the film elements were moved from Los Angeles to New York and have not been examined yet.

However, Rhino, who is also working with Hasbro, did mention that the first DVD box set is scheduled for release in 2003.

We got Rhino's latest press release last night and the only animated title mentioned for release is Vol. 3 & 4 of Beast Wars. The announcements only went as far as August so we will have to wait a little longer to see if we do get anything this year.

Oh please! Release "Arise Serpentor Arise!" on DVD, that's like a whole new movie right there! It's about 90 minutes together (I have the official VHS tape.)
