RGB to Component Converter (1 Viewer)

I have the Mitsubishi 50803 RPTV and just installed the Echostar 6000. According to Mitsubishi, I need the RGB-CV10 adapter module to view HD on my set. The cost is $300 for the module. I saw in Best Buy today, the RCA VHD-C300 HDTV VGA/Component Adapter Kit for $129! Does anyone have any experience with these products? Do you think the Mit is proprietary or will the RCA work with my set and save me a lot of money?

The 6000 has component outputs as well as RGB outputs. Why would you want to buy an RGB to component converter?
