Guys....
It's not that MGM doesn't wish to release this film....
It is the long list of copyrights that prevent this....
This film was not originally owned by MGM, filmownship was transfer to the when they absorbed the ORION library.
Ther are SERIOUS musci rights issues with this film.... They only pretain to a US release.
A petition is not the answer here...

This is not a question os "speaking up"... MGM is WELL aware of the popularity of this title...
The Region 2 disc sales speak for themselves....
This has to do with license and music rights on this title....
It was a RARE title on laserdisc due to this same very issue.

The only music clearance problem related to ONE song so this is NOT the problem. After talking to a MGM rep, I was told the problem simply relating to a licensing agreement for the movie as a whole. MGM owns it out-right but if another company's license extends for say, another 2 years, then MGM could do nothing however MGM feels that all rights have reverted back to them.
However we all know cases can drag out over claims *but* the more MGM hears about demand for the title, the more itchy they'll be to hurry up and settle the issue.
I really wish people would stop with defeatist attitudes. It really doesn't help.

That is what I was thinking, they might be like..
Oh, well, we'll just wait and see how it all works out.
But if we make them see that this is a very wanted DVD on many people's shelves they might really start working overtime to solve the legal issues.
I would like to see all the scenes in the alternate cut that is supposed to have a different ending...that isn't very different, but still a change. :) I never got to see the alternate cut. Just the theatrical one, and the TV one. :)

Michael I am with you buddy, Keep trying.
When I have petitions people come and say " Online petitions never work, waste of time "
Ignore those and carry on.
( No offense intended to anyone here )

Ricky
