Question for you Best Buy experts:
I used a $10 digital coupon from bestbuy.com (the FOTR 2-disc preorder deal) to preorder the FOTR 4-disc EE. The final cost with tax was $16.24-- great deal. It shipped on the 7th, but had not yet arrived as of yesterday. That's annoying, but I haven't had a lot of time this week to watch it anyway-- until tonight.
My question is, if it doesn't arrive in the mail today [IMG], would the following be possible without much hassle from BB?
    - Go to BB this afternoon and buy a copy for ~$25
    - Open and watch tonight
    - Return the copy that (eventually) comes in the mail (unopened of course), using the $25 receipt from the B&M copy and thus netting my original $16 price.
    Any advice appreciated!
    Thanks,
    David

Same thing here with AOTC. Shipped on the 7th, nowhere to be found. Not only did I miss out on the $9.99 deal, I've had nothing to watch!

If it's not here today, I was contemplating the exact same thing.

    Time is about to tell.....

I had the same problem with BestBuy.com on my preorders for LOTR:EE Gift Set and ET Gift Set which showed up over two weeks after shipping.

I am no longer preordering anything through their website. You are better off ordering it for pick-up on the day its released.

...and people wonder why I prefer in-store purchases! [IMG]
There is a LOT to be said for being able to put your hands on the bargains directly. Having said that, if e-tailer is the only way to go to try to get a deal, that's what I'm gonna do. But - to me - in store is always preferable.
But then, I've always been a glutton for instant gratification! [IMG]
