This may be a silly question, but I was curious...

When a film is restored... oh, say, Warner Archives restores an RKO Radio picture like, say, Top Hat, for Blu Ray, would they restore the opening title of the RKO Radio Picture radio tower on the Earth, or would they just insert an identical one already restored from another RKO Radio Picture, in order to save some money?

I would think as long as the intro was period correct it would work. Unless there were unique or special features to it...MGMs Lion changed over time and so did RKOs intro...same with Universal...They might want to go with the best elements available. I think it reall depends on the company doing the restoration.
