Ok...I just got my refurbished 5040 and am curious how the new software rollout works. Is the software still on hold (due to bugs)? Do they initiate downloads in any particular order?

Is there a list of features/upgrades the new software will add?

I plugged mine in and that's one of the first things it did (automatically update the software). It went to software version 530451350.

    Here's info:

Ugh bummer, I just realized that's still the 4.5. [IMG]

I just talked with a technical rep at Replay and they said they are going to start rolling out the new software this week 1,000 units at a time. This will include new software updates for the 4500 and 5000 series models.

Mine did the download last night. The changes aren't dramatic, but nice.

Overall, I really like the Replay. It's not nearly as slick or as feature rich as Tivo but considering the refurb deal, it's pretty great.

Plus, you get commercial skip. [IMG] I'm loving that (at least so far).

I love having my 4580 hooked up to my wireless ethernet connection as there are no long waits for downloading the nightly info from ReplayTV. It takes about 3 minutes now on average.

I got to get a bridge soon then.

I just upgraded to a 120GB drive last night. Man, one of the easiest upgrades ever.
