Can you replace a speaker (more powerful subwoofer for example) on a DVD Reciever home theater? What about regular component home theaters?

I'm not quite clear what you're asking. Are you asking if you can replace a "Home Theater in a box" speaker with another then the answer is "it depends". If you want to replace a speaker in a regular system then the answer is "yes".
