I like Yamahas a lot. I had been going with Onkyo for a while, mostly because of the price/feature ratio, but then the prices started to creep up; plus they seem to be having some quality control issues. I tried a Marantz too, but it had problems with DLNA, which I use a lot. My two Yamahas have been rock solid and have handled DLNA and my flac files flawlessly.
So a year later I traded the Yamaha for a Denon S720W. The Yamaha seemed finicky with certain things. Ran Audyssey and it set my LCR to 40hz and the surrounds to 90hz. I have to say, that while I never liked Audyssey sound on the 1712 I had, I really really like the sound from Audyssey's calibration on the 720. And I completely agree with schan1269 now about the multiple crossover points being superior. The soundfield feels wider and more precise.
