This is an A/V switcher that handles RCA signals, and it comes with a remote. Internet price is around $125. Do a search with Google. Good luck.

Sony has a new model that may work for you. It is not remote controllable but it is intelligent in doing the switching. I looked at it for my needs and it would have worked fine for A/V switching. It is less expensive than the SIMA. Sorry, don't remember the model number. Good luck.

The RCA VH920 will switch up to 6 A/V inputs; they can even be S-Video. It's controlled remotely by learning the command of an existing remote control unit. I doubt that it would exceed $80.

I use a JVC JX-S555 nowadays. (For the record I got it substantially cheaper than the MSRP on that page. Still, even at half-off it's more than you want to spend.
However, it the past I bought a relateively cheap passive switch made by Sony at my local Best Buy.
Your radioshack box will probably be an acceptable solution, but I certainly wouldn't expect the best picture quality possible out of it.
