I don't know if this has been discussed before....Don't you wish you could just like forget you saw a movie, and then watch it and feel like you did the first time you saw it? I don't think there is anything like the emotional response I get from seeing a GREAT movie for the first time. And of course everytime I see it, I want to watch it again less and less.....Just a thought.

Well, first of all, why would you want to watch a movie that you wanted to forget? :)

I do. Its the whole idea of not knowing what could happen next, and how it just keeps getting better and better.

I have yet to read Return of the King. Any of my friends that has already read it is pretty envious of me, I don't even know who throws the ring in. Of course, there is a general assumption though that the ring is destroyed, otherwise this would be biggest let down of a book of all time. I'm waiting to see the Two Towers before reading it.

And then there are friends of mine who haven't read any of the books, which makes me a bit jealous of them. They have no idea what's about to happen in 17 days.

If the film is really good, then the "what-happens-next" thing is irrelevant. One watches the film over and over because of its aesthetic and technical virtues; the enjoyment factor does not diminish, but increases. I've screened my favorite films countless times.

I can understand the idea. I waited a good three years to watch The Game again, just do I could hopefully forget everything that happened.
I would've worked too, if the memories hadn't come flooding back.
And I'd give anything to experience the ending of The Sixth Sense the same way as the first time I saw it. Damn that was a helluva feeling.
Sometimes, I wish I could get selective amnesia.
Dammit. :frowning:
