This release seems a bit odd. It is available at Amazon only through 3rd parties. Deep Discount has it but on their website they state it is a Manufactured on Demand blu ray. Best Buy also has it on their website and says it includes a digital copy though that is not mentioned on the picture of the case. There is no mention of Manufactured On Demand on the Best Buy website. Barnes and Noble has it available for shipping only, not in stores like the Warner Archive titles. Anyone purchase this yet? Perhaps this is Universal's version of the archive releases.

I watched it for the first time last Christmas on TCM (don't know how it happened, but I had actually never even heard of it until it got favorable mention here and it happened to show up on TCM around the same time). Anyway, I really liked it.

I ordered it through Amazon and my copy was delivered back on November 8th. I don't think it was through a third party seller at the time but it's a few cents cheaper now.

I didn't catch the old blu-ray but I've watched this one and it looks great.

No digital copy anywhere in evidence, though, and I don't know how to tell if a blu-ray is MOD

My preorder was by Amazon, not 3rd party, so if Amazon isn’t selling it now, it’s because they’ve run out. It’s a pressed disc. There are two types of MOD Blu-rays: burned, which are noticeably different, and short run, which are pressed in smaller batches and are identical to large run distribution discs.

This was on Blu Ray before briefly and I missed it. I think it was from TCM at the time of Only Angels have Wings which has since been reissued.
