to all the sonic experts out there,
where is the optimum location for small satellite speakers relative to a wall mounted plasma display?
it seems to me that it would be best to have the right, center, and left speakers mounted with their tweeters at ear level all in the same horizontal plane, BELOW the plasma. this would create a "seamless" soundfield across the front.
however, most pictures i see have the right and left speakers on the side of the plasma, flanking the screen, with the center speaker under the plasma.
any opinions on which sounds best and why?
thanks,
eric

Ideally, the front three would be at the same level, however there is nothing wrong with placing the center below or above the display, all you have to do is angle it towards the listening position to seemlessly blend with the mains.

IMO, in most of those pictures, the main speakers are too close together anyway. In most ad pictures they stack the DVD player directly on top of the receiver too, so it is clear when the picture is setup by a photographer vs an HT person.
