I thought it would be a nice gift for my sister, who has taken a position overseas.

Are there any players available that fit the bill?

    Regards,
    Rico

    Thanks Jeff,

Definitely a little pricey. Food for thought though.

Apex has a few portables - the PD-50 & PD-100 (and a third to be released). I haven't heard of anyone making them region free, but I'd be very surprised if it wasn't possible. Also, I read that they are very flimsy.

Yes, that's why the Apexs are cheap. You definately want to go with a name brand for a portable

Not necessarily. Portables are stolen/broken/lost at a very high rate, so it makes a perverse sort of sense to consider a low end model that can be replaced at a lower cost. Kind of like an expensive disposable. [IMG]
