Region Free DVD player (1 Viewer)

I know it's possible to take my dvd player to get "altered" to play all regions...my question is: does my tv need to be able to play PAL in order to watch a R2 movie? Has anyone done this and if so what are your experiences/reccommendations?

Alex, unless your DVD player is "altered" to convert PAL to NTSC you will need either an outboard converter or a TV that does the conversion. I have no first hand experience myself. I plan on purchasing a region free DVD player that includes a PAL to NTSC converter. The company I'm going to buy from is JVB. Here is their web address:
