Refurb Pronto Broken?

    I bought one of the refurbed Pronto's from JR about 3 months ago. It's worked flawlessly for me until now. I cam home one day last weeka and it wouldn't light up. Dead batteies I figured, so I replaced them. No go. Double checke that I had them in right. No go. The mute and up volume buttons are illuminated all the time. I don't think that anyone dropped it or abused.

    This happen to anyone else?

    Anything I'm over looking?

    J&R is an authorized pronto dealer and the refurbs have the manufactures warranty. Give them a call.

    If you can get the screen to light up, try reflashing the firmware. You can also clean the battery contacts, try pressing the reset button, and/or leaving the batteries out for about 8 hrs, before trying to reflash. Screen must be on in order to download to the remote. If all this fails, call J&R or Philips customer service.
