Refurb Denon 2807 vs 2307CI vs... (1 Viewer)

I am rebuilding my HT and it currently looks like I am going to go with Ascend speakers with an SVS pb12-nsd sub. Nothing is finalized yet. I am currently considering the Denon 2307CI receiver but for basically the same price (if not cheaper) I can get a refurb 2807. Any opinions on these two or possibly another receiver in the same price area ($700-$800). I know that the 2307CI is new and has not been widely release yet so users opinions will be hard to find. I did see some on Crutchfield the other day. The room is about 23 x 16 and will probably be about 70/30 video/music.

The AVR-2307CI is basically an AVR-2106 + HDMI. If your primary use is home theatre, then this will be more than capable.

Keep in mind that you can purchase a new AVR-2807 off of Audiogon for $725, so I would probably choose this over a refurbished unit (I can't vouch for the seller of course, buyer beware): http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls....cvr&1162158504

I would go with the 2807 refurb. Much more to it than the 2307.

Keep in mind also that Denon will not honor their 2 year warranty if not purchased from an authorized dealer. I was also considering the 2807 but i am probaly going to hold off until 1.3 avr's are out.

Is the refurb through a Denon dealer? If so, you'll at least get their 2 yr warrenty with it, just in case something does go haywire.
