The WX42/WX52's colour decoder is pretty darn accurate out of the box. Unless you know what you're doing, there's really no point to changing the default values.

    Howard.
Try to get a copy of AVIA it may help diagnose what's wrong with the TV.
I also think my 53wx52 has some kind of problem. After calibrating with S&V HT Tune UP, I feel everything has a slight brownish/yellowish hue to it. Also, when the room is dark and a black screen comes up, it looks reddish instead of black
I need to get AVIA myself and find out whether this is due to grayscale, color decoding, etc.

What's your temperature setting? Warm will give that brownish/yellow hue to the picture. Putting it to normal will help.

    Cheers,

Right now I have the color set to warm.
I will set to normal and re-calibrate and see what happens.

    Thanks a lot.

    Hi ya folks,

Another options of course without having to go into the service menu is getting an attenuator. Cost is a few bucks and if doesn't work, you can return it to the store.

    Thanks,
    Errol

Can you elaborate a little on this?
What does the attenuator do, where do you connect it and does it work for both progressive and interlaced?

    Thanks.

    Hi Manuel,
It's a device that installs inline with the signal that has the problem. In this instance and most of the time, it is the red component. So you get this device, plug in the device component red out to it, then it to the red component in of your display. Simple. [IMG]
Pls go here for more info.
    Thanks,
    Errol
