Red dots on the screen (LCD projector) (1 Viewer)

The image from my LCD projector has 4 or 5 tiny red dots on it... this is only really noticable when the image is very dark... and even then it really doesn't affect the movie... but it just bugs me.

I think I remember reading somewhere that this is normal for an LCD projector... but do any of you guys have any input or ideas of how I might be able to get rid of them?

I'm not an expert on LCD projectors, but if it's anything like laptop displays, perhaps it is a stuck pixel. on a computer, sometimes you can "unstick" them by tapping on the back of the display. not sure if there's an effective way to do this with a projector.

I had one (a green one) on my old Sharpvision LCD projector. It is a dead pixel by your description. How old is the unit?
