?recording to vhs from computer????

    friend of mine needs help

    his hook up is this
    S-VIDEO FROM COMPUTER TO VCR THEN TO TV

    TV PICTURE IS FINE

    BUT WHEN YOU RECORD TO VCR NO SOUND AND BAD PICTURE

    he is trying to record Power Point(KAIS POWER SHOW) presentation

    any ideas?
    his setup sounded good to me but i am no computer wiz

    Is the output of the sound card hooked up to the VCR also?

    yes--goes from computer>>>vcr>>>>tv

    you can watch the slide show sound and all on the tv

    its just not wanting to record


    anybody?

    You sure you got a stereo audio cable coming from your sound card to the audio inputs on the VCR?

    The problem has to be the VCR, since you know the video and sound are passed through it ok. Perhaps its set to record from a different input? Have you verified if the VCR can record from other sources or not? Tried a different tape?

    Yeah, you probably have to change the input (you know, input 1, video 1, video 2, whatever), or like my vcr, theres just a switch between AV and CATV or some shit.
