I found a place in town that participates in this and I'm thinking about going and having a look this year. No idea what to expect.

A few of my wants showed up in-store today, including the very nice and expensive 5-LP Emerson, Lake & Palmer picture disc set (only 1250 of them were made, so if you want it, get it fast.). Of course, I can't buy them until the 20th, but at least I know I am getting them.

That must be nice. It's first come, first serve at my store. Though I'm sure big spenders and friends get to make reserves on the QT.

I won't get all of these but I'm interested in:
The Animals: The Animals Is Here
The Doors/X: Soul Kitchen
Poltergeist soundtrack
Paul McCartney & Wings: Maybe I'm Amazed
Public Enemy: Planet Earth
South Park: San Diego/Gay Fish
Ringo Starr: Ringo
Dazed And Confused soundtrack

No doubt I can forget about the Wings and Ringo ones since those will go to employees, friends of the employees and people who get in line before daybreak. Poltergeist is a regional release so my store might not even get it. I plan on going pretty early so think I have a pretty good shot at getting the rest.

Ringo is a box that runs $30--three 7-inch singles, a poster, and a 45RPM adapter. I don't know how much the McCartney 12-inch goes for, but I have it on order, too. Also Mumford and Sons, Sly and the Family Stone, The Last Waltz, and the Cream live album in cream vinyl.

Today's the day!

Looks like The Last Waltz did not make it, but the Cream Royal Albert Hall 3-platter set did. It's a half-speed master of the 2005 reunion concert.

Now to get a turntable...
