Anyone have any thoughts on some magazines that would fit the following,

    Middle-High end fidelity componets

    Objective reviews

    Home Theater

I tried S&V but that was geared a little low for me, The Absolute Sound was a little to high end. Stereophile? The Sensible Sound?

    Thanks

    Greg

Greg,I find that The Perfect Vision is one of the better mags. The current issue has a good face-off with about 20 DVD players.Unlike Home Theater mag. which seems to like everything or not have a clear opinion,T.P.V. tells you which products they recommend and which ones to stay clear of.They must have a smaller ad revenue than Home Theater[IMG]

I have that one, seemed pretty good, although much of the magazine was dedicated to Home Theater and I would like more of a hifi tilt, but I subscribed to TPV.

What about Stereophile Guide to HT, then you get the best of both worlds.[IMG]

HT mag is pretty good IMHO, they don't really say a lot of bad things about products (which I don't really like), BUT BUT BUT they give them a rating of 1-100, and that to me says a lot, and says how they truely feel about the product without ripping on it, S&V never hardley ever says bad things, and all products are winners in their eyes. Stereophile guide to HT is good too, but they don't say much bad and they don't rate. Of interesting note, HT mag is now published by Prime media (or how ever it is spelled) which also publishes the stereophile guide to HT, stereophile and audio video interiors.

    My order

    1. HT mag

    2. Stereophile guide to HT

    3. Stereophile (to dream, but a little hi-end for my budget)

    4. absolute sound and sensible sound to look at off the rack

    5. Perfect vision and S&V I just flip through off the rack

what ever happened to "Audio" and a ffew of the other ones??

I just read the Sensable Sound and I though it was pretty good. This months mag was a little componet thin as they did their anual staff picks for music but I thought there areticles were very objective, in a sub review they flat out say that the sub is 1k but there are subs for $500 that could outperform, thats what I want to know. Also gave great review for the Audiosource amp3 2 channel amp which retails for $500 I believe.
