I would like to get some recommendations/opinions for component cables. I'm looking for 1.5 or 2.0 meter lengths to connect between a non-progressive DVD player and a digital TV.

I like quality but dislike very highly priced cables. I'm purposely not posting my price range to see what y'all have to say.

    Thanks

Neil: I have often recommended AR/Radio Shack cables for modest systems.

    But yours does not qualify.

Does your HDTV do line-doubling? This means it takes the analog signal, digitizes it, does all kinds of stuff to it to make it look better? I bet it does.

You really want to hit the custom sites and get production-studio grade coax and connectors. Because of the processing involved in your system, the small change due to the cable can have visible results.

Thank you all for the advice. I will check those sites out.

Bob, I've ordered the Sony KV-32HS20. It has the line doubling. Sounds like I need to consider the higher grades as you suggest.

    Thanks again....

Neil: WickedCables will sell you a 2 meter (6 foot) set of component cables made with Canare Plugs & connectors for about $70. IMHO this is as good/better than the Monster Video 3 set that sells for about $280.
Or, I can direct you to a web site that tells you how to build your own. (But the tools will set you back about $100-$200 so it's an investment in the future) [IMG]

How are the RS cables with these product numbers:

15-1508C Gold plated RCA cable (red, white yellow color coding)($15 for 6ft)

15-1563 Gold plated Component video cables (red, green blue color coding)($50 for 6ft)

They appear to be the same except for price and color coding. Opinions or experience with these?

    Thanks
