What sub in the $300 price range offers the tightest bass? I have a cheap Sony SA-WM20 that's too boomy.

    Thanks....

I came across PSB SubSonic 5i factory cosmetic blemished sub for $295(MSRP $499) at HTF sponsor www.dmc-electronics.com . I haven't heard this sub but it did make The Perfect Vision editors' choice for under $800 subs. This is what they had to say "...the performance of this econo-sub is semi-unbelievable. Extension, dynamic slam, and good musicality from this 10" bass-reflex design makes it perfect for misers with Champagne taste."

Thanks Chris. I don't have "Champagne taste",[IMG] but I want something that has a tighter bass. I'll check out the link.

Since you already can spend $300 why not just wait a bit and spend the extra on a SV Sub that you are going to be very happy with for a long time.

The Athena subs have been getting a lot of good words.

Also, Hsu Research will be coming out with three lower cost subs with great bang for buck in a couple of months. I heard the 8 inch, impressive for what it is and what it will cost.

Thanks all for the help and links.

I probably could go up to $400. I've checked out Velodyne at Circuit City and JBL at the nearest Best Buy. They sounded OK but a little to boomy. The BB I went to didn't have any Athena but I see BB offers free shipping.

    Thanks again!

If you can do $400, the Adire Rava for $399 is a great buy!
