my new amp (crown CE1000) only has XLR balanced inputs, and obviously my denon 2802 only has an unbalanced RCA type output.

now, ive read as much as i can about the connections on her, but search results are hit and miss, so i still have a question:

what is the cheapest way to switch between an RCA jack and an XLR?

i already have an rca-1/4" adapter, so if cables exist (and ive heard they do, though am not sure if they really work well) that switch between 1/4" jack and XLR then i could do that. other things i have seen are the rane bb22 or to just buy something like the BFD, which gives me both the EQ and the switched connections. im also interested in hearing about any other products of prices lower than the BFD that would do the job.

The easiest and cheapest way is to take a set of RCA Cables
and lop one set of RCA Barrels off the ends and install a
pair of Neutrix XLR ends.. Of course there is no way to go
from RCA to Balanced XLR so you will basicaly short two of
the three pins (Earth and -VE get shorted as one)

If you have RCA to TRS Cables there are TRS to XLR Adaptors.
All of this stuff can be had from www.partsexpress.com

thanks. i read in the manual for the amp that it accepts balanced and unbalanced XLR connections, so im assuming it shouldnt be a problem.
