Im looking for a warm sounding receiver to take the slight edge I hear on my speakers off. I am currently running a yamaha rx-v595

I think you should listen to the Harman Kardon receivers.

Marantz, NAD, H/K are generally softer than Yamaha.

What source are you using and how is it connected? Your source is also a factor in how your system sounds. How about your room? Is it bright (hardwood/tile/leather furniture)?

Pioneer Elite is a good choice. Engaging THX post-processing can also help if you have that on a receiver.
