Receiver wanted...have budgeted up to $1500 (for the nerve center of my HT system)...using for music, movies, and tv...want to control multiple rooms and be prepared for newer formats...This is my first new receiver in over 20 years.

I have looked at Denon, Sony ES Series, Yamaha, HK, Integra, and Pioneer. I am picking up my Klipsch RF35s and 25s this week with rw12 sub.

What I would like is to determine which is the best receiver for the money. And, how much is too much for use in a HT system.

My main viewing room is 20x20 (with well controlled lighting).

At $1500 you should be able to find a very nice receiver. I can give you my personal favorite, but remember the best receiver is the one that sounds the best to you and has the features you are looking for. I have always liked Yamaha and I will soon be the owner of a Yamaha RX-V2400.

When looking at Pioneer be sure to look at the Elite models. They are the better quality of Pioneer models.

The Denon(s) should mate well with those speakers.
But as most are, I am biased towards Denon so I weight them unfairly high.
