When calibrating my HT, do I have to calibrate my DVD player settings (ie. distance and loudness) if my AV receiver is already calibrated for distance and speaker loudness?? I do not have the aide of a SPL meter.

I am assuming then that your DVD player has on-board decoding if it has these features. If you are using the digital connection these would not come into play at all.

If you are using 6 analog cables, then that means you are using the on-board decoding, and these options would come into play. It should be obvious that they likely aren't affecting the digital output at all, by changing the volumes and seeing that it won't affect anything.
