    Hello everyone,

I'm new to posting, but have been reading things here for sometime. I'm currently phasing out my old non-DD Yamaha receiver and looking to get something new as I move into a new condo. Here's the equipment I have to work with...

    Pioneer DVD Player DV525

Panasonic Laser Disk (DPL Only, Pre-AC3/DD)

JVC VHS VCR (I refuse to buy kids videos on dvd ie:Elmo)

    Paradigm Titans (front)

    Paradigm Atoms (rears)

Boston Entry-level Center (replacing possibly with Paradigm cc170)

The room this is going into is fairly small, so I don't need any massive power here. My budget for the receiver is approx $400. ($500 if I can hide the price tag from my wife) My old Yamaha has served me well enough to warrent looking at new models of it. I've looked at a Denon 1602 my friend has which was nice. I was also considering entry level Marantz or Outlaw if I can afford them. I'd like to hear what anyone here has to offer in the way of wisdom.

    Thanks for any input!

    Hello Phil,

Good to read another Clarke with an 'E'.

I would go for the Denon 1802...or Yamaha 620 if you need like DSP's.

The Outlaw if you can hide the price tag($500). If not, go with the brand you trust and know. Yamaha RXV620 should serve you well. I have one of these and it is simply marvelous.
